The original cylon model…in which Daniel Greystone, played by Eric Stolz, had inserted the downloaded copy of his dead daughter Zoe in the BSG Prequel (and pilot for the we-can’t-wait-to-be released series).
January 22, 2010 - Series 1, Episode 1 of Caprica, Rebirth on Syfy, as reported by Wired Mag.
Zoe Greystone, 16 year-old computer genius who disocvered how to harness all the information from the human brain and download it, enabling copies…
Here she is hologramming in a cyberworld where she keeps the a copy of herself … where she talks to herself … interacts with herself … in a SoundFactory-like/Twilo-like club
This creator of the downloadable copy, was a new, but strong believer of an outsider group who belived in one true God (vs. the Gods of the 12 colonies); which provides the origins for the programming of the Cylons’ belief.
Zoe’s divergence from the status quo can be considered as characteristic of any normal 16 year-old trying to establish his/her own identity, seprate and different from her parents whom she so adamantly defies; desperately wanting her parents to listen, to hear, to understand her…
It’s interesting that the combination of her genius, her natural teenage tendencies, and her environment…i.e. nature and nurture…all combine to create the force that eventually attempts to annihilate the human race…because it was wrong, because it wouldn’t listen, because they would never learn…
from a teenager rebelling against parents and a society who ignore, to cylons hunting down the human race that created them…the pattern is the same…
“It’s all happened before…and it will all happen again…” So say we all?
