BSG we miss you!!!!

Shameless plug in tonight’s episode of NBC’s Castle with Nathan Fillion - listing possible motives for a suspect, he mentions “…or a mad scientist trying to create his own monster…”

Baltar: I could get in very big trouble for this.
Six: Well you’d make my employers very happy.
Baltar: Well I’m not doing it for them, I’m doing it for you.  I don’t care how they feel, how would it make you feel? …. The things you do for love …
Six: Gaius…you love me…
Baltar: Well, you know what I mean…

This scene was only shown in the very last episodes of the series as a flashback…it is only then that we discover that Gaius really did risk himself for love…

And it is genius that he was in denial of it…for so many of us are…and so we witness his agony through self-doubt … which is a central theme in Baltar’s struggle, his need for respect, his need for others to accept him, while he is not accepting himself, which is the source of his inability to accept that he loves another…

he did not know…so he suffered…and it is only in the end, after he experiences, and finds some logic to love, that he feels it and accepts it…and thus we go back to the beginning, to the source, to see that he really did do it for love…

it’s genius that we see it only in the end, only when he sees it, is that revealed to us, just as it is revealed to him…brilliant

Cylons occuping Caprica just after the attack … per Wiiper 77,

“EXPANSION: The biomechanical cylon race occupies the former human world of Caprica. The planet is 42% water and can sustain life. Some areas are radioactive due to the Cylon nuclear bombing of some human cities. All of the surviving humans are rounded up and placed on Heavy Raiders to the nearest human civilization. The Cylons begin to decimate the planet with nuclear bombings and other similar means of destruction. The Cylon fleet of 120 Basestars orbits overhead in a defensive formation.

SCOUTING: A single Basestar is sent out to “jump” (aka: go faster than light) to the nearest tyllium asteroid and mining stations to mine the tyllium that is used to propel Cylon spacecraft. Another 10 Basestars are sent to the human-occupied world of Aerilon to begin bombing of its defences and launch an invasion.”
